ABOUT THE ARTIST //

Moheb Soliman is an interdisciplinary poet from Egypt and the Midwest whose work is often oriented by themes of nature, modernity, identity, and belonging, often taking shape in writing, performance, and installation projects. In recent years he’s focused on the Great Lakes bioregion/borderland, presenting work under the banner HOMES [Huron Ontario Michigan Erie Superior] in diverse US and Canadian art and public spaces and soon publishing a related poetry collection with Coffee House Press. Previously, he’s also been awarded grants and fellowships and other support from the Joyce Foundation, Forecast Public Art, Pillsbury House, and Banff Centre, among others. Moheb has degrees from The New School for Social Research and the University of Toronto, and before coming to the Tulsa Artist Fellowship worked as Program Director for the Arab American contemporary lit/art organization Mizna.
